Should confidence in the Ocean Pearl Village take root, then the Shediac Sandcastles would be plausible. If the local population is confident and motivated, then a dozen of these villages could be built simultaneously along the coast like a string of pearls. These will supply food and energy to the town centre, which will be remodelled. The present infrastructure will be greatly reduced and lands returned to a natural state, as outlined in the Maritime Agreement. It will take about two decades to transform Shediac into Canadas first off-grid, carbon neutral town.
